More coming soon...

All of the planes below are built or are being built for TBM's demo pilots. If you would like us to attend one of your club's functions and put on a demo, we would be happy to talk to you about it. We put on flight demos at the noon/lunch break for IMAA, IMAC, Warbird and other fly ins. We can even put on a demo just for your club when you don't have something else going on. We can put on a seminar on how to set up your plane for aerobatic flying, IMAC flying, jets or warbirds. We can set up flying events so people can fly a turbine aircraft. We let people fly the ShockJet on a buddy box, and we can accomodate many people. There is no charge for our participation in the event. We love to fly and this gives us an excuse. Just contact John Blake at marketing@troybuiltmodels.com.

Fly Eagle AT3
SpecsOverview
This jet has a 70" wingspan and is 90" in length. It should weigh in at 25 lbs.
The AT3 is a mid-sized jet made by Fly Eagle Jet. It easily meets the IMAA requirement of 140" length + width as the AT3 is 160". We are installing the new Jet Cat P-160SX Titan which is the latest and greatest kerosene start turbine or the Jet Central Rhino. We will use HD Power servos and MPI servo arms.

Fly Eagle F-16 Advanced
SpecsOverview
Plane: FEJ F-16 Advanced
Turbine: Jet Central 18 lb Rabbit
Servos: HD Power 2550A
Batteries: TBM Li-Ion
This is a smaller jet made for a small, 14 lb turbine or larger. With a wingspan of 54", it is under the 140" IMAA requirement. We are building this jet with the new Rabbit turbine from Jet Central with 18 lb thrust. We will use HD Power servos and MPI servo arms.

John Blake and Gene Payson will be flying this two identical models as a team. They will be equipped with smoke, JR 8711 servos, and ZDZ 160 engines. Once we have our aerobatic demo worked out, we will be putting on flight demos where ever we can.

Magic Hand YAK 73" Electric
SpecsOverview
Plane: Magic Hand 73" YAK54
Engine:MPI Combo 120 Electric
Prop:APC 19X8 E
Servos:HD Power 2550A
Batteries:Thunder Power 10S 5000 mAh for Power, TBM 2C LiIon for the Rx.
Another nice Yak from China. Most of the Chinese products are fairly similar in quality now. We built an electric plane and a gas plane to test them out. We let pilots try them out whenever possible.

Magic Hand YAK 73" Gas

MF Models Shockjet - Tiger color sheme
SpecsOverview

Plane: MF Models ShockJet 80.5" wingspan
Turbine: Jet Central 14 lb Super Bee
Servos: Hitec HS-645
Batteries: TBM Li-Ion

This is a great trainer turbine jet. It takes off of grass easily. While the brake works well, on grass it is totally unnecessary. This is a favorite for noon demos because it is highly aerobatic. It can hover into the wind very slowly, it has even gone backwards in higher winds. It will fly in any wind conditions because it is so stable. We like to offer this to fly on a trainer box because it is so easy to fly, yet it has true jet performance.

MF Models Shockjet - Tsunami color scheme
SpecsOverview
Plane: MF Models ShockJet 80.5" wingspan
Turbine: Jet Central 14 lb Super Bee
Servos: HD Power 2550A
Batteries: TBM Li-Ion
This is a backup to the other ShockJet. The only difference is the color scheme and the servos.

WJM Models Rafale
SpecsOverview
Plane: WJM Models Rafale 62" wingspan
Turbine: Jet Central 36 lb Rhino
Servos: Hitec HS-5955 and others
Batteries: TBM Li-Ion
We originally built the jet with a 30 lb turbine and it flew well but it really got kicked into high gear with the 36 lb thrust Rhino. It's an impressive jet with a sharp sport color scheme. This is a big jet with a 36 lb thrust Rhino turbine in it. Wingspan is 65". The detail, especially on the landing gear is superb.

TBM Warbird Zero
SpecsOverview

Plane: TBM Zero 93" wingspan
Engine: 62cc Zenoah engine
Servos: HD Power 2550A servos
Batteries: TBM Li-Ion
Weight: 25 lbs

We have built the prototype plane and brought it to the King Orange scale contest just to show, not to compete. We built it with a Zenoah G-62. We are making some special TBM warbird props for this engine. Being fully painted it looks better but is a couple pounds heavier.

TBM Warbird P-40
SpecsOverview

Plane: TBM P-40 93" wingspan
Engine: 85cc DA engine
Servos: Hitec HS-645 and HS-5955
Batteries: TBM Li-Ion
Weight: 23 lbs

So far we have received the prototype of this 93" plane and we are bringing it to scale meets where possible. This plane flies at over 160 mph, so it moves. It does score will in Scale Masters Advanced Fun Scale, though it will also do non-scale maneuvers like knife edge loops and torque rolls. We put HS-5955 servos on the elevators because they have 3D throws. We flew with normal throws using Hitec HS-645 servos.

TBM 12' B-25
SpecsOverview

Plane: TBM B-25 144" wingspan
Engines: Two 85cc DA engine
Servos: HD Power 2550A
Batteries: TBM Li-Ion
Weight: 65 lbs

Availability: ARF version in 2009

This B-25 is being built for the Monster Planes fly in being put on by Frank Tiano in Florida in October. We hope to have it ready in time. If it is not flying by the show, we at least hope to have it available at the fly in to show. We will be making this plane available as an ARF. At 144", it will be one of the largest ARF's available. We will be using HD-Power servos, Sierra Giant Scale landing gear, and DA-85 engines. the plane will be fully painted. The fiberglass fuselage will have panel lines and rivet detail.
