Overview

They don't get any more powerful or reliable than this engine.

Shown in picture is the dimensions of the engine in inches using the 3" standoffs. The 2.5" standoffs are standard and are included with the engine at no extra charge. We will swap the 2.5" standoffs out for the 3" standoffs which we carry at no extra charge. You can purchase either size of the standoffs for $7 each (4 are required) if you prefer.
TBM TIPS:
Use the 2.5" stand offs if the distance from the firewall to the back of the spinner (front of cowl) is 6.7" or less. If the measurement is over 6.7" use the 3" stand offs.

Most planes, especially Yaks are tail-heavy. With Yaks, often times it is desirable to use 3" stand offs even though the 2.5" stand offs will work so as to get the weight of the engine further forward to help with CG issues.

Use washers to make the correct gap of 1/16" to 1/8" between the cowl and the spinner. Be sure to use 2.5 to 3 degrees of right thrust in the engine. Longer coupled planes need less right thrust than shorter coupled planes (like most biplanes).

The shaft is tapped for a 10-32 screw for use of an aluminum spinner. If you can't find a long enough screw for your spinner, simply purchase some threaded rod at the hardware store and make a screw. Make the head of the screw by soldering a nut to the threaded rod at the appropriate length, then grinding the nut to be round, then cut in a slot with a Dremel tool.
