Dubro Prop Balancer

As you can see from the photos, you can use this prop balancer from Dubro for all giant scale props by using the configurations shown. The propellers and the spinners we offer are balanced at the factory, and they are pretty good, but it pays to check them anyway.

Tip Balance: We recommend that you balance the propeller horizontally only. To do this, we recommend light coats of clear spray paint on the back side of the lighter half of the propeller. If you add too much, sand it off a little, and then add more clear again if necessary.

Hub Balance: We recommend that you do not balance the hub. Engine manufacturers save weight in their engines by keeping the crankshaft counterbalance as light as possible. Therefore, if you put the heavy side of the propeller down, it will help the engine run smoother. So if the prop in the photo above always rotates to horizontal the same way, then the heavy side will be down when the prop is horizontal. Install the prop so that when the piston is at the top and you feel compression, put the prop on with the heavy side down.
