I find stands to be very helpful in assembling planes which do not have the landing attached to them when the wing is removed like many warbirds and jets. This way you can flip the plane onto its back and attach the wing or do maintenance to the landing gear. The stands are light, and they fold up for easy transport. We like the Midwest Stand because it is fairly tall so you aren't bent over so much to work on your plane.
